LbUxGWkVsdoUeyN3IFixit’s teardown of the Apple Pencil kicks us off this morning, revealing a tiny logic board as well as an internal metal case, after both ends and the plastic outer shell have been taken off. There’s a tiny battery, a tiny antenna, and a smattering of other components that go together to make one of the most responsive stylus accessories of all time.

Apple has acknowledged an issue with the iPad Pro, where the display will go black and not respond to input. The fix, as posted in this Apple KB article, is to force restart the device by holding down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo is shown. Apple in investigating.

Over at Macworld, Jason Snell says the keyboard on the iPad Pro could use a little work. Apple’s Smart Keyboard accessory is a good start, but with a few improvements, it could be even better. Numerous minor software issues also sour the experience, but I’m sure Apple will fix all those in time.

The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple says he doesn’t want an iPad to replace his Mac, saying many people are buying iPad Pros to see if they are capable of replacing their Macs. While that may be the case for many, equally as many people don’t want an iPad to be their primary computing device.

In a piece titled “the iPad Pro has an App Store problem”, Lauren Goode of The Verge says that smaller developers are still working out how to make a living from the App Store. While I agree with the basic premise, I’d argue that’s a problem for the iOS App Store as a whole, and not just an issue that affects the iPad Pro.

The latest rumour says Apple is looking for a new supplier to help them manufacture the Apple Watch successor. DigiTimes says Apple is looking for a secondary manufacturer to assist Quanta Computer in Apple Watch fabrication next year.

The latest Apple patent application describes retractable floaties for the iPhone, in order to protect against sudden drops and water entries.
