I have a spare Gigabyte Windforce OC GTX 970 that I would like to install in my old Mac Pro 3.1, I would like to know what the wattage is on the two six pin power headers on the logic board draw, I’ve read mixed reports on this including the web drivers, the card will draw 120W on idle and typically 160-165W, no gaming or overclocking just general use and home video editing using iMovie, so it should stay below 180W. If anyone has had any experience on this card on an early 2008 Mac Pro would like to know if its worth the upgrade.
