Great, so we can both google WRONG sources that claim 7200 RPM. When WD marketed these drives, they cloaked the rotational speed by describing them ‘Intellipower’, which when tested showed the data transfer speeds were considerably slower than the 7200 Caviar Black drives.
In the end, you’re better off with a Caviar Black drive, or if you have the cash, an SSD…
If I knew that the hdd was 100% the issue I’d definitely go for a SSD, but at this point its more just diagnostic, and I have the green drive on hand. If it solves the crashes, I’ll revise…
