My son’s iPad Mini running 9.something has all of a sudden gone to a “Choose a network” screen, with “iPad Not Set Up - Continue” dialogue box showing up. Clicking continue doesn’t do anything…
What the hell happened? Can this be remedied other than connecting to iTunes?
Said iPad is currently on the other side of the Bay to me; will be able to get my hands on it tomorrow night, but then have a weekend before can connect to my Mac… with a very upset 9yo…

I’ve had this happen to me at some stage - I’m just trying to remember how/why/what happened… I think it was updating to iOS 10 or iOS 9 OTA - I have a feeling a hard reset fixed it?

Gave it a shot but no luck… It actually is saying Activation required, suggesting it’s been wiped (?), yet still has the old wallpaper showing…
Think I’ll have to plug it in and start over.

Has it auto updated iOS? Sometimes depending on the update it will want to be set up again when it completes the update… i.e. join network / login to iCloud / etc.
