MacBook / MacBook Pro Anti-Reflective Coating Quality Program

Owners of MacBook and MacBook Pro models with issues with the anti-glare display coating are now eligible for service coverage under a Quality Program. The repair program covers all MacBook Pro 13-inch and 15-inch models with a Retina display, as well as the new 12-inch Retina MacBook.

Apple is repairing affected machines from 3 years from the date of purchase or one year from October 16th, 2015 - whichever is longer.

Those that have previously paid for out-of-warranty repairs for this issue should contact AppleCare AU at 1300 321 426 as they may be eligible for a refund of the repair cost.

Anyone with a machine affected by this issue should contact your nearest Apple Retail Store / Genius Bar or Apple Authorised Service Provider to have the issue resolved.

Thought I would give everyone here a heads up.

What sort of repair are they offering? A new screen or just a new coating?

It would be a replacement display module. I’d imagine reapplying just the coating would require some fairly specialised machinery that anywhere outside of manufacturing likely wouldn’t have.
