Up until now, Intel has mostly been mum in the mobile space, preferring to instead focus on desktop and server CPUs. A new report from VentureBeat says that could all change, as Intel currently has “a small army of people” working on getting an Intel product included in the next iPhone, with the chip manufacturer keen to hitch their next-gen LTE modem to the iPhone bandwagon.
The latest update for the iWork suite brings support for new features in iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan, including Split View multitasking as well as 3D Touch support on the new iPhones. IWork for iCloud has also shed its beta label, with all updates now available via the respective App Stores. Apple’s what’s new page has more detailed changes across the board, if that’s your thing.
IFixit has taken apart the 4K version of the 21-inch iMac, finding that things are pretty much exactly the same as the were before with minor differences. IFixit’s similar teardown of the new Magic accessories lets us take a peek inside the Magic Trackpad 2, the Magic Mouse 2, as well as the Magic Keyboard - the latter of which has no butterfly keys, but a re-engineered version of the scissor switch.
Apple has been ordered to pay the University of Wisconsin $234 million for infringing on a patent, with Judge William Conley ruling that Apple had not wilfully infringed on the patent regarding SoC efficiency. Apple will be appealing the decision.
New interactive displays at Apple’s New York and San Francisco stores show off the 3D Touch feature of the new iPhones, with hard presses on the iPhones sending a rippling effect to the table/display behind.
