I have a problem where every couple of days my 2TB Time Capsule seems to crash. Instead of doing an hourly backup as usual, the Time Machine drop-down box on the task bar just says “stopping”. It stays like this until I do a hard reset, and then things go back to normal. Then a couple of days later it does it again. Is the Time Capsule failing? The wifi is working normally. Has anyone experienced the same problem?
I wonder if its worth investing in a program like Drive Genius, Disk Warrior, or Tech Tool and the like. I have Drive Genius which seems to detect most disk problems, but I dont have a Time Capsule, I use external drives which arent Apple. Maybe get a trial of one of them and see if it can tell you anything?
