So here is an odd security flaw in word. Was sent a template by someone with content deleted. Fair enough, no problem…but here is the oddity. If you view the document by clicking space bar to preview contents, it seems like MS Word maintains the original preview of the content so I can see information that is not in the document, some of which could be potentially sensitive (it’s not in this case, but it could easily be).
You mean previewing the document with Quick Look in Finder? I’m not sure that’s dependent on Word, doesn’t OS X generate those previews, even without Word installed?
That’s the interesting part. This file was emailed to me so it looks like the preview that was originally generated is held within the file and exposed with preview. It doesn’t seem to regenerate it.
