A story on how Apple logs iMessage contacts and can be later shared with law enforcement agencies wants to spread details about the kind of data that is logged about your conversations. The only problem is, this isn’t exactly news. Apple’s license agreements for iOS 10 and older include the fact that it can hand over data to law enforcement agencies when a valid search warrant is presented.

An Apple press release shares information about Apple’s newest partnership with Deloitte. Deloitte will be creating a partnership composed of 5,000 strategic advisors who will focus on changing the way businesses work, with a new Deloitte consulting service called EnterpriseNext which will help clients take advantage of the iOS ecosystem of hardware, software, and services in the enterprise.

Apple Music has scored the highest marks in terms of customer satisfaction according to JD Power, topping out the rest of the streaming music services. Curiously, only 35% of respondents said they were strongly committed to Apple Music, with 62% of respondents also saying device compatibility was a major reason they signed up.

It’s said Apple will be moving some of their operations in the UK to a centralised location. The Battersea Power Station building has been abandoned for 33 years, and is currently undergoing work to become Apple’s UK campus, consolidating eight other locations to be ready to move in by 2021.

Analysis of the iPhone 7 camera from DxOMark shows improvement in key areas over the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, leading to an overall higher score for the camera in the smaller-screened iPhone. And with improved colour capture and display, a faster lens, and improved image processing, it’s no surprise that the iPhone 7 scores higher. But the proof will be whether the camera in the iPhone 7 Plus scores even higher, and if so, by how much.

Ars Technica says that the combination of the upgraded hardware of the Apple Watch Series 2 and watchOS 3 make Apple’s wearable really come into its own. Apple now seems to have a clear purpose for the activity-tracking smartwatch, which pulls double and triple duty as a communications tool when it’s not tracking your latest workout.

Former Apple engineer Bill Atkinson says the best place for Siri is in your ear. Clearly, this is a man who has seen the movie Her and wants that version of the future — and perhaps Apple’s new AirPods are the first step towards that future.

Both the iPad and iPhone versions of Skype have now been updated with CallKit and Siri to enable answering Skype calls from the lockscreen, as well as being able to ask Siri to make Skype calls for you. MacStories has more details on the iPad version, with all the same changes applying to the iPhone version also.

Leaf is the newest iOS Twitter client on the block, and while I have doubts it will be able to top the maturity of Tweetbot, I’m glad that people are still investing time and energy into making Twitter clients. If you want to try it out, Leaf is $7.99 on the Australian App Store.

TouchArcade says that Apple’s step of removing problematic and abandoned games from the App Store is an issue for gaming history. Removing games for not being updated in five years is one thing, but there’s also a slice of gaming history that goes along with it. Perhaps Apple just isn’t that sentimental about iOS games when there’s a million others.
