Time’s explanation of why Apple created the Apple Watch says it was all due to late Apple CEO Steve Jobs. It was Jobs who thought the entire healthcare system needed an overhaul, and even though we’ve already heard reports of the Apple Watch being an extremely useful tool in the diagnosis of heart-related conditions which show symptoms of heartbeat irregularities, Jobs still thought it was time to bring some order to patients, their data, and healthcare systems.
In terms of Apple Pay, Australia and Canada were in the same boat up until recently in that Amex-issued Amex cards were the only ones supported by Apple Pay. Of course, that all changed when ANZ announced Apple Pay support for their Visa cards, and now, two of the five major banks in Canada have announced support for Apple Pay, with The Verge reporting that the remaining three will also be jumping on the bandwagon in the coming months.
