The iPhone X reviews are out, and the one you should probably be reading first is the one from Matthew Panzarino — not only because he’s one of the only reviewers thus far to have had the device for more than a few days, but because it reflects real-world usage of the newest iPhone. Panzarino took the iPhone X on a family trip to Disneyland so he could “use the absolute crap out of it” for several days straight, contrasting typical iPhone reviews which are used at home or during the drudgery of day-to-day life. Panzarino’s review also has interviews with a few Apple execs, including Dan Riccio, Phil Schiller, Craig Federighi, and Alan Dye.

Jason Snell’s review of the iPhone X, over at Six Colors, talks about the biggest changes to the iPhone since the introduction of the 4.7-inch form factor all those years ago with the iPhone 6. It’s close to the ideal smartphone design, with most of the front face being taken up by a truly impressive display, and the good news is, Face ID works as seamlessly as you would expect. The iPhone X is tomorrow’s smartphone, today.

The Verge’s Nilay Patel has a more traditional review from a consumer technology perspective, at least as much as possible for someone who has spent less than 24 hours with the iPhone X. For that reason alone you could consider Patel’s review as being more of his first impressions, but there’s still plenty to unpack about the new hardware, new design, and new paradigms within iOS as a result of removing the home button.

Buzzfeed also has a great review of the iPhone X, and unlike other outlets, they’ve also had about a week with the new phone. The biggest change for Nicole Nguyen is that it’s a very similar size to the iPhone form factor that we’ve had for years now, but with the screen size that’s a lot closer to the Plus-sized iPhone. Their review is punctuated by statements that describe unique selling points of the iPhone, with the following paragraphs going into more detail about the feature or change, and the whole thing flows really nicely.

The last review I’ll highlight this morning is the one from Mashable’s Lance Ulanoff, who says that if you wanted to know about future iPhones, even if you’re not interested in buying the latest iPhone, you should still look at the iPhone X. It’s telling that none of the reviews have commented negatively about the iPhone display notch, or Face ID as the replacement for Touch ID. Everything that people were concerned about before the release of the iPhone X hasn’t been enough of an issue to write home about, and instead, what we’re left with is almost the ideal smartphone.

Oh, and a bunch of high-profile YouTubers have unboxing videos of the iPhone X, if those are more your style and speed.
