Crikey that’s pretty high tech, it has the time visible all the time without having to lift your wrist or press a button, very clever!

Another boring purchase. These are for backups on an upcoming trip because I have no idea if the internets going to be good/cheap enough to backup my daily photos to Backblaze.

Considered buying 3 Trackr Bravos for the price of 2, but just bought 1

Was then prompted to buy a Trackr Atlas, decided to buy 3 for the price of 2

XY3 looks pretty cool too: https://www.xyfindit.com/pages/compare-xy-with-tile-and-trackr

Sony MDR-XB610s, retailing for AU$148, I picked them up in Akihabara for AU$70. They’re good. They’re very good. I needed them for editing.

Just bought myself a deep cycle battery box (and a deep cycle battery to go in it) which I’ll be charging with my folding solar panel set for when I go camping.

Went out, had a midlife crisis and ended up with a skateboard.

My brother and I both ended up buying new ABEC 7 bearings tonight too. (My plan was to wait a few months before upgrading mine, most completes ship with ABEC 5’s as I haven’t ridden in years but starting to feel confident enough after a few nights).

doesn’t take long for the wobble in the legs to pass…

Not wrong. Does anyone else here skate?

Related. I found out via another specific interest group (to do with fountain pens) that Alien Workshop folded, were bought out and now only make decks. That’s how long it’s been since I last rode a skateboard.

hah! growing up on a farm I never actually did skateboarding as a kid. So bought myself one from rebel sport last year when a sale was on to have a cheap MLC. I do alright, at least I stay upright. I think I will get myself one of those big long ones next.

Used to skate in my teens. Was sponsored for street skating but did something stupid on a 12 foot ramp and paid the price with a broken pelvis. 6 weeks in traction and the doctor told me I wasn’t allowed to skate anymore. Still miss it but at 42 I’m a little old for it now.

Gigabit just went live in NZ via a few ISP’s. Our UFB rollout has been happening over the last few years. 2 months ago I was on 60Mbps VDSL. As soon as fibre was available on my street I upgraded to 100Mbps, and then gigabit was rolled out last week so I upgraded again. It’s so fast there’s only a few Speedtest servers that can actually measure it - most of them top out at 280Mbps  But on the gigabit ones I get anywhere between 800-950Mbps down, and a solid 400-500 up.

I feel for you guys, the NBN is a shambles :frowning:
