Has anyone had any luck or heard of anyone getting apple to replacement a screen on for free on a 2017 A1707 MacBook Pro that has the cracked ribbon wire, otherwise known as the “Flexgate scandal” or the. “ spotlight fault” , where the screen opens and works but fades and goes black before it’s fully vertical. Well known fault and Apple did a recall on the 2016 13” MacBook but not on the 2017 which used the identical part and has same fault. On 2018 onward they lengthened the wire to prevent the issue. It’s about $1000 aud to fix this now.
I’m disgusted with this as I rarely use it and is like new, it’s very disappointing as it’s just over 5 yr old.
