Spam alert

Just received an email supposedly from Apple’s iTunes Store. They knew my name, the date of my next payment (for my iCloud subscription), how much the billing was for. A flag was that they said my subscription was for 205GB instead of 200GB. They told me that there was an issue with my payment information and gave me instructions on how to update my payment info.

I rang Apple and they confirmed all was good at their end so I’ve just changed my Apple ID password.

Be careful out there!

Hi Steve. Thanks for letting us know. Did Apple say they would do anything about it?

They asked me to forward the email (which I did) so I suppose they will investigate.

We all can never be reminded enough to review and change our passwords. Most of us will have a weak password for some site that we haven’t updated for 5+ years.
